Moving contacts to static segments using point triggers¶
Using point triggers to move contacts to static segments in Mautic is a powerful way to automate the segmentation of your contacts based on their engagement levels. This process is particularly useful for identifying and targeting your most engaged contacts for special offers or sales follow-ups.
Note
Create a Segment, if necessary, before following this tutorial.
Steps¶
- Log in to your Mautic account.
- Navigate to the Points page by selecting "Points" from the main menu.
- Select "Manage Triggers" to view and create point triggers.
- Create a new trigger by clicking on the "New" button.
- Define the trigger criteria:
- Set the point threshold that a contact must reach to be moved to the static segment.
- Choose the action Modify contact’s segment.
- Save the trigger by clicking the Save button.
Success
Determine if you’d like to add all contacts with at least that number of points to the segment. If you only want to add new contacts who reach that number, leave the switch set to “No”, otherwise set Yes to add all existing contacts with the certain number of points defined before to the segment.
Note
Monitor the segment to ensure contacts are being added as they reach the defined point threshold.
Results¶
- Contacts are automatically added to the static segment once they reach the specified point threshold.
- Segment reflects the most engaged contacts, ready for targeted campaigns or sales follow-ups.
- Event history in Mautic shows the changes in segment membership for each contact.
