Frequently asked questions¶
Can I host a high-traffic, video-heavy site (for example video streaming) on these tiers?¶
The tiers are sized on pageviews and uncached requests, not on raw bandwidth — egress traffic is unlimited under our fair use policy. A video-heavy site can look light on pageviews while still pushing a lot of traffic, and our hosting is built for website hosting, not video streaming or large media delivery.
If your site serves a lot of video, host the videos on a dedicated video-streaming platform (such as YouTube or Vimeo) and embed them in your pages — playback stays smooth and your environment stays sized to its actual web workload. If streaming is an integral part of the application and can't live on an external platform, it falls outside the standard tiers; contact us so we can scope it and prepare a custom quote based on your expected traffic.

- Enabling Apache Solr will impact performance, potentially reducing the maximum number of monthly pageviews.
- High availability is possible from the medium size and higher
- The general mail service is included by default and is suitable for low-volume transactional emails (contact forms, password resets, ...). It supports SPF but does not sign mails with a DKIM signature on your own domain, so it cannot make a DMARC policy that requires alignment with your domain pass. If your domain has a DMARC policy with
p=quarantineorp=reject, or you fall under Gmail's and Yahoo's bulk-sender rules, you need the dedicated mail service add-on. See Extra capabilities — Mail service. - From your next contract renewal, the uptime guarantee applies to platforms protected by Dropsolid Edge Shield, which is the layer that lets us commit to availability. On the CDN only option, availability becomes best effort from that renewal onwards. 24/7 monitoring, response and resolution times are not affected, and existing contracts keep their current conditions until they renew.
